June 16th, 2009
Welcome back! Nice of you to visit us again.

The South Beach Diet is one of the most popular and talked about diets in the world. The South Beach Diet was formulated by a very renowned cardiologist by the name of Arthur Agatston. The cardiologist had formulated this diet especially for his patients who were suffering from cardiac problems. Soon the diet became popular and even people without cardiac problems began to follow it to remain slim and fit and prevent obesity in the future. The South Beach Diet consists of three phases where the first phase last for two weeks and it is the most difficult. This is because during the first phase your choice of different foods is very much limited and so are the quantities of foods that you eat. During the second phase you can gradually increase your quantity as well as the different types of foods that you can eat. In the third phase you can increase the food list further.

The South Beach Diet recipes are generally followed by people when they are on a diet. Let us look at the most common recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the South Beach Diet. For breakfast you can have 2 scrambled eggs along with cheese or salsa, a grapefruit, and slice of whole grain toast and sugar free tea or coffee. In case you don’t drink tea or coffee you can have fat free warm milk.

For the mid morning snack you can have a hard boiled egg. For lunch you can have 1 and a quarter cups of fat free cheese, a red onion, 4 spinach leaves, 8 ounces of roast beef and 4 flour tortillas. You can then spread a little amount of cream cheeses over the tortilla. Next you layer the spinach, onion and roast beef, roll up and fold. For the mid afternoon snack 4 ounces of light yogurt will be good. Let’s discuss the recipe for dinner in the next paragraph.

For dinner take 1 and a quarter cup of water and one tablespoon of olive oil. Next take 2 cups of broccoli florets and one packet of roasted garlic and olive oil mix. You will also need 1 ½ chopped chicken with 3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice along with a ¼ teaspoon of lemon peel. In a large skillet mix water, oil, broccoli and spice from the couscous mix to a boil. Add in cooked chicken, lemon juice and lemon peel. Simmer the mixture until it is heated completely and then remove from the heat. Cover the skillet for 5 minutes and then serve.
