Do you want to lose belly fat? Well before we find out how to do that there are a few things you must consider. In fact first of all we need to find out how scary the situation currently is. Losing belly fat is not a difficult task but it requires you to be very disciplined in terms of the diet you take, amount of exercise you do and the kind of lifestyle you live.
If you have recently developed this belly fat then you will not be needing any rigorous treatment but if your paunch has been going around with you for a few years or months then you’ll have to try a bit harder.
The first thing that you’ll have to change is the food that you eat. No more burgers or fries or pizzas for you. Try and avoid eating out because the food prepared in most of the fast food joints is often not healthy for your body, how so very tasty it may be for your tongue. These foods contain saturated fats which are very harmful for your body and ultimately become stored in the body as fat deposits. Over a period of time these fat deposits become hard fats and start showing here and there like belly fat, double chin, thick hips etc. This is not a good sign because most of the people suffering from heart related ailments today have not been eating right. You should replace all these junk foods with fresh fruits and vegetables immediately if you wish to lose belly fat.
The next step in losing belly fat is by exercising for at least 1-1.5 hours every day. Most of us never manage to exercise even 15 minutes a day because of our really tight schedules. It is always like a race against time for us and we don’t even manage to walk for 10 minutes every day. In offices we have elevators and escalators which again take away that bare minimum chance of exercising our body.
And lastly you need to alter your lifestyle. You need to sleep at least 7-8 hours every day and sleep soundly. This is very important because after all day’s work your body needs some rest to synchronize all the processes inside the body. Also you need to seriously control your alcohol and tobacco intake because both of these are not only harmful for your health but also addictive. Alcohol drastically reduces the rate of metabolism which ultimately results in a fat belly.

June 20th, 2009There are hundreds types of diets in the world. The main purpose of all these diets is to remain healthy by eating the right types and amount of foods at the right time. There are some specific diets like South Beach Diet, Mediterranean Diet and Atkins Diet. Also there are general diets like rice diets, low carb diets, low fat diets as well that have proven to be effective for the people. Obesity leads to disorders like hypertension, high blood pressure, increased chances of heart stroke and diabetes.
A special diabetic diet is recommended by doctors for those patients who are suffering from diabetes. It is best to visit your doctor who will guide you with the exact directions to be followed in the diabetic diet. Let’s plunge into the main details of a diabetic diet.
A diabetic diet stresses on having foods that are rich in starches. Some foods that are rich in starches are breads, cereals and some types of vegetables. You should have at least 5 servings of these foods every day. See to it that you don’t include a lot of amount of food in each serving and also keep a fixed time interval between each serving. You can also include fruits in your serving. At least have five fruits and vegetables every single day of the diabetic diet. Limit your intake of foods that are high in sugar content. Hence limit your intake of sugar and sweets. You can in fact eat substitutes like low sugar sweets.
Foods like vegetable and some seeds consist of soluble fibers that may prove to be very beneficial for people suffering from diabetes. These foods in fact slow down the absorption of glucose by the body and hence keep the levels of sugar in the body under control. Foods that have soluble fibers are legumes, beans, whole grains and nuts. Hence see to it that you include these types of foods in your diabetic diet. It is necessary that you talk in detail about your current intake of the nature and amounts of foods that you eat. After the diagnosis, your dietician will recommend the best diabetic diet for you that you will have to seriously follow for a few months before the positive effects of the diet are noticed. You can also ask your friends, family or relatives who have followed a similar diet plan for advice and their experiences.
